Why Literacy Matters

Our Philosophy

The term literacy refers to the skill of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in a manner that enables effective communication and understanding of the world.

Our Expertise

Literacy is the key and foundation to the future impact of literature. We aim to provide the support and resources necessary to  improve your child's relationship with literacy and literature daily.

Brains & Books

Brains & Books is a reading program designed and dedicated to encouraging healthy reading habits for elementary and middle school scholars. We aim to be a communal resource for the improvement of literacy in children.

Join Our Reading Program

Joining our reading program is as easy as 1-2-3!

Each month that your scholar achieves their monthly reading goal, they're eligible to receive a $10 gift card to redeem a treat.

Have your scholar read 400+ minutes a month. That's just 20 minutes, 5 days a week. Review the program details below and download your reading log to get started.

Be sure to subscribe to the LFP Kids community to receive reminders, resources, and more to aid on your child's literacy journey.

Community Involvement

We're pleased to announce our recent partnership with TeaTime Mentorship.

TeaTime Mentorship is a Jacksonville, AR-based nonprofit program for young girls in surrounding communities that aids in developing self-esteem, community service, and life skills.

LFP staff will serve as a mentor at local schools to further the mission of the mentorship program while also working to incorporate creative reading, thinking, and writing elements. Our goal is to aid in building a solid foundation in literacy while fostering a love for reading and writing in our youth.
